Soft green and relaxed tailoring

The Sage Edit

Summering in Hilton Head pushed me toward a palette I do not usually wear: soft green. It still feels neutral enough to mix easily with the rest of the capsule, but brings something fresher and less expected than another white or beige piece.

That is exactly what I want when packing for an extended summer stay. The pieces need to work together, but I do not want every outfit to look like a variation of the same neutral uniform.

The Look

The sage palette is quiet, but the combination of color, texture, and relaxed proportions keeps it interesting.

Rather than relying on bold accessories or a statement print, this look is about restraint. The soft green does the work, while the easy silhouette gives it that effortless coastal feeling I wanted throughout the Hilton Head edit.

It is polished without feeling precious and comfortable enough to wear throughout the day.

For Work

For a work-from-home meeting, layer the Max Mara ivory linen blazer over the look.

The ivory immediately brightens the sage and adds structure from the waist up. Linen keeps the jacket appropriate for the season, while the tailoring gives the softer pieces underneath enough polish to feel professional on camera.

It is exactly the kind of work layer I want in a summer capsule: neutral enough to wear repeatedly, lightweight enough for Hilton Head, and structured enough to transform an otherwise relaxed outfit in seconds.

End the call, remove the blazer, and the look goes right back to summer.

Capsule Variation

Pair the sage silk tank with the Zimmermann dot skirt.

The combination brings together two pieces from elsewhere in the capsule and gives both of them a completely different personality. The soft sage against the feminine dots feels fresh and slightly unexpected without introducing another color story.

The silk also adds movement against the skirt, keeping the look refined while still feeling easy.

This is the kind of versatility I want from capsule packing: pieces that do not simply coordinate, but become something new depending on what they are paired with.

A softer palette. More possibilities.
